Repay

Repaying reduces or closes a debt. The repaid asset is sent from your XRPL wallet to the market.

How to repay

  1. On the Markets page, hover the asset in Borrow Markets and click Repay. You can also click Repay on the asset's market details page.
  2. Enter the amount, or click the Borrowed value to repay the full debt.
  3. Review the transaction details and click Repay ‹asset›.
  4. Approve the transaction in your wallet. For USDC.axl, the wallet prompts twice: the token transfer, then the relay fee.
  5. The transaction tracker opens. The repayment is complete at Executed on XRPL EVM. See Transactions.

Repaying the full debt

Interest accrues while the transaction is relayed, so a repayment of the exact displayed debt leaves a residual balance. Clicking the Borrowed value selects repay all:

  • the payment carries the debt plus 0.1 % to cover interest accrued during the relay;
  • the market takes exactly the outstanding debt;
  • the surplus remains in your Securd proxy and is not returned automatically. The modal displays the maximum surplus.

Repay all is not subject to the per-action maximum. The 0.1 % buffer covers more than 24 hours of interest at the highest borrow rate; if a transfer stalls for an insufficient relay fee, top it up promptly so that it executes within the 6-hour deadline. See Transactions.

Typing the debt as displayed (for example 0.01 for a debt of 0.010001), or any larger amount, also selects repay all: the modal displays the exact amount sent.

Repay all requires the wallet to hold the debt plus 0.1 %. When it holds less, for example exactly the amount borrowed, the Borrowed value fills the debt itself (or the whole wallet balance if smaller) as a plain repayment, and the modal says so. A plain repayment of the full displayed debt can leave the interest accrued until execution as a residual debt; repay it later with repay all. A residual debt below the display precision is shown with the token's full precision, for example 0.000001 USDC, and blocks the withdrawal of the collateral that backs it.

Requirements

  • Your wallet must hold the asset. For USDC, only USDC.axl is accepted. See Trust lines.
  • The amount cannot exceed your wallet balance: Amount exceeds your wallet balance.
  • The amount (for XRP) plus the bridge fee must fit within your spendable XRP.
